West Ham news: Diafra Sakho tells West Ham he wants to quit and demands move to French side Rennes
Senegal star has hardly figured this season and has informed David Moyes of his desire to join French club after his summer switch there collapsed
DIAFRA SAKHO has told West Ham he wants to leave and join French side Rennes.
Senegalese striker Sakho is unhappy under David Moyes and let the Hammers know he plans to go despite their injury crisis.
The star has hardly figured this season and often trains away from the first team as he looks to leave.
He played just four times last term and has failed to in convincing Moyes to give him more action this campaign.
And Sakho has laid it on the line that he prefers to go to France and get the move that was first set up in the summer window.
A handful of Premier League clubs have tried for Sakho.
However, the Hammers have been reluctant to allow him to leave for a rival.
Newcastle, Crystal Palace and Swansea are relegation rivals and Moyes did not want to strengthen their durvival hopes.
20/20 VISION Jose Mourinho signs new contract with Manchester United
The 28-year-old helped his country qualify for the World Cup but has fears over his place in the squad for Russia due to his lack of game time.
His agent Thierno Seydi revealed earlier this month that a host of clubs were interested in the hotshot, who joined West Ham from Metz in 2014.
He said: “He is not short of offers.
"He has stated his desire to leave since the last transfer window.
"Diafra will never pick a fight to achieve his aim. He will leave, but he'll do it in the proper manner.
"He knows West Ham want to make money from his transfer.
“He has remained professional despite the numerous offers he's received.
"He wants to play for a club that puts more faith in him."
But with the time ticking down in the current window, the forward has now made his intentions perfectly clear and is desperate for both clubs to reach a deal for him to depart the capital.
