Liverpool transfer news: Lazar Markovic set to finally quit Liverpool for Spartak Moscow this month
Serbian international has not played for the Reds since May 2015
LAZAR MARKOVIC'S Liverpool misery could finally be over this month after Spartak Moscow expressed an interest in him.
The Russian champions are reportedly making a move to sign the Serbian international on a permanent basis.
Markovic, 23, has endured a miserable time at Anfield and is surplus to requirements under Jurgen Klopp.
The star knows he needs to move in order to reignite his career - and the claim that Spartak are ready to offer him a lifeline.
Klopp is open to offers for the winger as interested clubs began to plot their approach.
Saturday's FA Cup opponents West Brom are keen on bringing the attacker to the Hawthorns.
Liverpool forked out £20million to sign the attacker back in July 2014.
But since his arrival from Benfica he has failed to justify that hefty price tag.
RON'S THE ONE Liverpool and Everton track West Brom striker
Markovic scored three times in 34 matches during his first campaign on Merseyside but has not played for the club since May 2015.
Loan spells at Fenerbahce and Sporting Lisbon failed to help him secure a permanent transfer away.

He did impress briefly as he spent the second half of last season on loan with Hull City but could not stop the Tigers from being relegated, ending his hopes of joining them permanently.
Watford and Zenit St Petersburg joined Fiorentina in declaring their interest in Markovic during the summer.
But neither were willing to pay the alleged £16m valuation placed on his head by Anfield chiefs.
The ace has continued to train with the Liverpool squad but the closest he came to match action was when he was an unused sub against Leicester in the Carabao Cup.
He has not made a matchday squad since that night in September.
