Southampton boss Mauricio Pellegrino is favourite to be next Premier League boss sacked as odds slash on Marco Silva becoming Saints boss

MARCO SILVA became the eighth Premier League manager to be sacked and according to Sun Bets the next top-flight boss to be axed is Mauricio Pellegrino.

The Southampton boss is to be sacked while Rafa Benitez is walking on thin ice in the bookies’ eyes as is to leave Newcastle.

Although Saints’ draw against Spurs is a good result, the south coast outfit have not won a league game since November.

And with his days are believed to be numbered on the south coast, former Watford boss is take the Southampton hotseat in the current 2017/18 season.

Despite failing to pick up a Premier League win in their last 11 games, Pellegrino remains optimistic.

Following the 1-1 draw against Spurs, he said: “We have to continue in this way, the spirit and the commitment on the pitch was very good.
