Arsene Wenger confirms Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang interest and says his character will fit Arsenal
Borussia Dortmund star has had a number of run-ins with club bosses but looks set to make switch from Bundesliga this window
ARSENE WENGER has confirmed Arsenal's interest in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and said his character will fit Arsenal.
The Borussia Dortmund striker has had a number of run-ins with club bosses in the Bundesliga side.
But the Emirates chief is adamant that is not an issue ahead of a proposed move this month.
Asked if Aubameyang will fit Arsenal, Wenger said: "Yes, a character can be very positive or very negative.
"Overall you look at achievement over career and if he has done well the character has been used in a positive way."
But Wenger refused to reveal too much when speaking to the press this morning.
Speaking of talk of his transfer, Wenger said: "No I have nothing to add to that.
"This kind of thing is better when it's secret.
"You announce it when it's over the line. Nothing else [other than Sanchez] is close."
Reports earlier this week indicated the Gunners had achieved personal terms with the Gabon forward.
It was further claimed that the 28-year-old's switch was down to Dortmund and whether or not they would allow him to leave.
