Chelsea star Cesc Fabregas injures hamstring and could miss Arsenal clash in Carabao Cup semi-final second-leg

Spanish playmaker picked up the setback in training on Tuesday and could be out for up to ten days

CHELSEA fear Cesc Fabregas will be out for up to ten days with a hamstring injury.

And it means the playmaker could miss the Carabao Cup semi-final second-leg clash against former club Arsenal next week.

Fabregas picked up the injury during training on Tuesday and was immediately ruled out of tonight’s FA Cup clash with Norwich.

However, the Spaniard will be absent for the key tie against Arsenal and will also be forced to sit out this weekend’s trip to Brighton.

Fabregas has proven himself to be the real schemer in Chelsea’s XI over the past few seasons.

And without his influence in midfield, Antonio Conte’s men may find it hard to carve out opportunities against their opponents.

The Blues have recorded goalless draws in their last three games for the first time in their history.

And with Alvaro Morata already finding it hard to score – he’s gone five games without finding the back of the net – it could be more of the same in the next fortnight.

Fortunately for Conte, new signing Ross Barkley will be available for the Brighton game and could deliver the spark Chelsea have been lacking recently.

Reports in Italy claim the current Premier League champs have made an enquiry for Roma left-back Emerson Palmieri, while talks are currently underway with West Ham over a deal for Andy Carroll.
