GIR IS AUBA BAIT Arsenal to offer Olivier Giroud plus £30m to land Dortmund ace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
Mkhitaryan was left out of the squad for United's 3-0 win against Stoke last night.
Jose Mourinho admitted his decision was due to "doubts about his future".
He said: "I would lie if I said it was a pure tactical decision. It was just a choice of the players that we know, in this moment, they have 100 per cent their heads in Manchester United.
"I don't think it's easy for a player to play when there are doubts about his future.
"It's added pressure that a player doesn't need, so I think it's the best for him and for us, while the doubt is in the air, to protect him."
Arsene Wenger claimed Sanchez's future would be decided before Wednesday.
But since then, Manchester City have pulled out of the race - while Chelsea have entered it.

Etihad top brass have now pulled the plug on their year-long pursuit and left United in pole position to sign Sanchez.
City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak spoke with Pep Guardiola and City execs and decided the numbers were too hot for them.
Chelsea are willing to test the waters and bid for £35m-rated Sanchez.
Antonio Conte's side are however said to be unwilling to pay a £5m fee to his agent.
Arsenal hope to cover Sanchez's exit with a £44m deal for Bordeaux's Brazilian winger Malcom.
Borussia Dortmund's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could also be on his way to the Emirates - with Olivier Giroud going in the opposite direction.
