Wales manager Ryan Giggs considers bringing in Paul Scholes as his No 2
Dragons boss was unveiled as Chris Coleman’s successor on a four-year deal in Cardiff and refused to rule out his former team-mate
RYAN GIGGS is weighing up a move for Manchester United pal Paul Scholes to be his Wales No 2.
The new Dragons boss, 44, was unveiled as Chris Coleman’s successor on a four-year deal in Cardiff.
And Giggs refused to rule out bringing in Scholes, 43 — who he worked alongside as the Red Devils’ interim boss in 2014.
He said: “I’m not giving you names right now but it will be a balance of Welsh and potentially non-Welsh as well.
“They have to be right for the job, someone who is going to contribute to the success of the Welsh national team.
“You have to trust them, you have to have the right dynamic around the team.
“You don’t want to be managing your coaching staff — you have enough managing your team.”
Giggs got the nod over Craig Bellamy, Mark Bowen and Osian Roberts. He plans to speak to Roberts — the FAW technical director, who was one of Coleman’s assistants — about his position.

His first game in charge will be against China in the China Cup on March 22, followed by a clash with either Uruguay or Czech Republic four days later.
But Giggs’ home debut must wait until autumn as Cardiff City Stadium and the Principality are both booked for music gigs in May and June.
