REDS NAB KEITA

How old is Naby Keita and is Liverpool star at the World Cup?

The midfielder has finally joined from RB Leipzig after agreeing the deal last year

LIVERPOOL have officially announced the signing of Naby Keita, after he completed his £52.75 million move from RB Leipzig.

The midfielder joins a year after the deal was initially agreed in what was seen as a major coup for the club and has drawn comparisons with former Reds star Philippe Coutinho during his time in Germany.

How old is Naby Keita?

Keita is only 23-years-old, further adding to his 'bargain' tag, as he already shows his potential to become one of the best in the business.

Our friends at  believe that while there is a belief that Keita is more defensive minded, his statistics show he has a far greater impact going forward.

He averaged an assist every four games last season, with his fellow Liverpool midfielders Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, Georgino Wijnaldum and Adam Lallana all rating lower.

He might not be as flashy as Coutinho or possess Steven Gerrard’s leadership, but Keita has the drive, creativity and unpredictability to transform the Red's midfield in his own way.

No, the midfielder is not currently in Russia, as his country, Guinea, failed to qualify.

They were knocked out in the third round in the African qualification stage, finishing bottom of Group A that saw Tunisia progress.

And it is highly unlikely that Guinea captain Keita will ever play at a World Cup, with the National Elephants yet to reach the major tournament in 12 attempts.

Instead, he will be able to embed himself into the Liverpool side before his team-mates return from the World Cup and his playing style would allow him to assimilate quickly into Klopp’s tactical methodology.
