Leicester star Jamie Vardy fit to face Chelsea on Saturday but Wes Morgan is out with Danny Simpson dubbed doubtful
England star should also be in line for a romantic reunion against his old club Fleetwood in Tuesday’s FA Cup replay
JAMIE VARDY has recovered from the hamstring injury which forced him out of last Saturday’s FA Cup tie against his old club Fleetwood Town.
The England striker is fit to face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday and will also be in line for a romantic reunion against his old club Fleetwood in Tuesday’s replay.
He was left gutted after missing the original tie which ended in a goalless stalemate.
However Leicester skipper Wes Morgan’s hamstring injury has ruled him out of Saturday’s game against Antonio Conte’s defending champs.
Meanwhile, Danny Simpson faces a late fitness test on his hamstring.
Manager Claude Puel welcomed back Vardy and revealed: “Jamie has trained all week and will be available to face Chelsea.
“With Wes, I don’t know for the moment how long he will be out, but he will not make not be in the squad for Chelsea.
“As for Danny, he can run a little, but he is not sprinting yet, so it’s good news but we will need to see when he can come back to the team.”
TIME TO GO Five players each of the Premier League top six need to sell this January, including Theo Walcott and Daniel Sturridge
Puel’s Foxes have had four more days than Chelsea to prepare after Conte’s men were in Carabao action in midweek.
But Puel said: “That is not an advantage. We can see their squad and they have two or three players for each position.
"It is possible for Chelsea to play every two or three days.
“They have a lot of quality so it is not a problem for them.”
