Compatriots Gabriel Jesus and Ederson were both convinced to join the Etihad revolution after speaking to Guardiola on the blower.

And Fred is ready for a chat, telling : "I have not received [his call] yet, I'm just eagerly waiting. He'll call me soon!"

Guardiola got a look at Fred on two occasions in the Champions League this season.

It was just before Christmas when City's reported interest in him emerged.
