Bournemouth transfer news: Sunderland dealt huge blow as Cherries recall top scorer Lewis Grabban amid interest from Wolves
Cherries trigger clause to cut short season-long loan to cash in this month as Wolves lead the chase for star
SUNDERLAND'S Championship survival hopes have been dealt a major blow with their top scorer Lewis Grabban returning to Bournemouth.
The striker, 29, was on a season-long loan with the rock-bottom Black Cats.
He had bagged 12 goals for them in 19 league games despite their poor form.
But Bournemouth tonight triggered a recall clause in Grabban's Sunderland deal.
That means they can cash in on him this transfer window.
Championship leaders Wolves are among the clubs who want to sign the hitman on a permanent basis.
Sunderland boss Chris Coleman will now be looking for a replacement.
But he has been told he has no money and must rely on loan deals.

It comes a bitter blow to the ex-Welsh manager as he faces up to an injury crisis.
Coleman and his side at least get some rest bite from the Championship this weekend.
They travel to North East neighbours Middlesbrough tomorrow in the FA Cup third round.
But they face a tough task when they return to league action next weekend.
