Former Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal urges Red Devils ace Daley Blind to leave Old Trafford
The Dutchman, who has been out of a job since leaving Old Trafford in 2016, has taken a third swipe at his former club
LOUIS VAN GAAL has urged Manchester United star Daley Blind to leave Old Trafford for Barcelona.
Blind has been linked with a move to the Nou Camp ahead of the January transfer window.
The Holland international has struggled to get regular run of games this season under Jose Mourinho.
Blind, 27, is out of contract at the end of the season and there appears to have been no talks over the potential triggering of an automatic one-year extension.
Barca reportedly want Blind as a replacement for Javier Mascherano, who is expected to jump ship to the Chinese Super League in the New Year.

And Van Gaal has taken another swipe at his former club by telling his fellow Dutchman to leave if given the opportunity.
He said: “Daley Blind is better off going to Barcelona, than staying with Man United."
“He is not even on the bench for United sometimes.
“Daley can play in more than one position and at Barcelona he would never be sat in the stand.”
Van Gaal also believes Blind could be a big hit in Catalonia.

"I think Daley would fit in better at Barcelona anyway. His level and his style of play is more suited to Spain than England,” he added.
“He can operate as a central defender who builds up the play.
“He can be a defensive midfielder or an attacking left back. Daley can do it all.”
