So his new deal will see his weekly wage soar from £115,000 (nearly 130,000 Euros) to 200,000 Euros.

We revealed yesterday how the Belgium playmaker has agreed a £64million, six-year contract until 2024.

That upgrades the 26-year-old's current deal, which ends in 2020/21.

De Bruyne's agent, Patrick De Koster, has not only demanded payment in Euros, he also wants the superstar's signing-on fee of 10million Euro paid over the next six years.

But the figure he might be most interested in is a reported bonus if he can end the decade-long grip of Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona legend Lionel Messi on the Ballon D'Or.

That extra sum is thought to be around 225,000 Euros.

Runaway Premier League leaders City are still chasing a Quadruple success, with the Champions League finally looking a realistic target.

KDB added: “The team is going in the right direction. I made the right decision coming to City and my family feels the same.”

Now City hope more defensive-minded midfielder Fernandinho will also extend his current contract.

Boss Pep Guardiola likes the solidity provided by the Brazilian in his otherwise free-flowing side.

Now Guardiola hopes Fernandinho will agree a new deal soon.

Fernandinho can speak to other clubs in next month's transfer window as his deal ends in the summer.

But City's paying power and the fact he has cemented his regular place this term mean he is likely to stay.
