Arsenal transfer news: Arsene Wenger set for huge clear-out with as many as TEN players set to leave club
Five players are out of contract at the end of the season, while doubts remain over a whole host of struggling talent
ARSENAL are set for a major overhaul of their playing squad with as many as TEN player set to leave the club.
It will be the biggest shake-up of boss Arsene Wenger's 21-year reign at the London club.
Four players, Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil, Jack Wilshere and Per Mertesacker, are out of contract at the end of the season, and some could even go in January.
Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott are growing increasingly frustrated with their lack of game-time, and could head to pastures new.
Aaron Ramsey and Danny Welbeck, while both having two years still to run on their respective deals, could well be flogged rather than allow their contracts to run down.
Mathieu Debuchy will finally be allowed to leave, while there are growing doubts as to whether Santi Cazorla will ever play again following his latest Achilles injury.
Sanchez and Ozil could even be flogged in January, with their hesitation to agree new deals adding instability in the ranks.
One player who is desperate to prove his worth to Wenger however is Wilshere.

And the French gaffer gave the tenacious midfielder some hope in the week when he revealed he will "talk" to Wilshere over his future.
Speaking at a press conference ahead of the Gunners' home clash against Newcastle, Wenger said: "I will talk to him at the end of December but I wanted to see how much he can contribute and how he will last physically.

"For him to be happy here is important and I consider him an Arsenal man."
But the man himself is uncertain of what the future holds.
Wilshere, 25, said: “There’s not really a date in the diary. I’ve only read what he's said in the media.
"I’ve just played my first game in the Premier League, I’m concentrating on staying fit and staying in this team.
“That will look after itself. When it’s the right time to talk about it, I’m sure the boss will call me and we’ll have a chat.”
