Former Porto and Marseille ace Lucho Gonzalez has sensationally been accused of attempting to KILL his wife
The 36-year-old ex-Argentinian international allegedly attacked partner Andreia Marques at their home in Brazil last Friday
FORMER Argentinian international Lucho Gonzalez has been accused of attempting to KILL his wife.
The midfielder, 36, has had successful spells with Porto and Marseille. He was recently released by Brazilian club Atletico Paranaense.
Gonzalez allegedly attacked Andreia Marques at the couple's home in Curitiba, eastern Brazil, last Friday.
She told reporters: "We talked and he shoved me several times, then threw me on the bed. He grabbed my neck with both hands and shouted: 'I'm going to kill you!'
"He called our two young children into the bedroom and told them: 'Come and watch your crazy mum die.'
"He then cleared the house of all our jewellery and valuables, took all the money out of our bank accounts and blocked all my credit cards."
Local police have opened an investigation. Meanwhile a court has issued an order forbidding Gonzalez from coming within 500 metres of Andreia, and preventing him from seeing his children for the next three months.
A police spokesman said: "The victim and witnesses were interviewed by female officers.

"The wife had a physical check-up at the station, and we have already been in contact with the player's agents."
Gonzalez won 10 trophies during his two spells with Porto, including six league titles. Everton tried to sign him in 2007.
He helped Marseille lift the Ligue 1 crown, as well as three French League Cups.
Capped 45 times by Argentina, he has also played for Huracan, River Plate and Qatari club Al Rayyan.
