January 2 against Watford could be the big one if they are to break record of most wins for team in European top-flight
PEP GUARDIOLA'S team were in high spirits as they train ahead of a massive clash with Tottenham on Saturday evening - and prepare to make European top-flight history.
The Premier League leaders - 11 points clear of neighbours United - made history on Wednesday in their 4-0 defeat of Swansea City.
City, who beat Arsenal's 13-year record for consecutive wins at the weekend, beat a record that had been around since the 19th CENTURY.
The hammering of the Swans made it 15 in a row for City, which makes it the best run of any team in any division in English league football... since 1888.
That's 129 YEARS!
City are also quickly closing in on the European record.
Out of the 'Big Five' leagues (England, Spain, Germany, Italy, France) City's 15-game winning run currently sits sixth.
Pep is no stranger to the list, currently owning two of the top five winning runs in those countries.
In 2010-11, he led Barcelona to 16 wins in a row, a record matched by Zinedine Zidane in 2016 at Real Madrid (although that streak came across two seasons).
Monaco also managed 16 in a row in 2016.
Inter are the surprise team in second place, Roberto Mancini's team winning 17 in a row en route to dominating in Serie A.
Pep will actually looking to break his own record.
The City boss led Bayern Munich to a whopping 19 wins in a row in 2013-14, his first season in charge at the Allianz.
City need five more wins to beat that record.
The big day could come on January 2, at home to Watford.
Between now and then City play Spurs, Bournemouth, Newcastle and Crystal Palace.
Looks like it could be 20 for City.
