Neymar ‘flies home to Brazil for family emergency’ and likely to miss PSG’s French cup clash
Samba superstar has reportedly been given three days by Paris Saint-Germain to attend to the matter in his homeland
NEYMAR has jetted back to Brazil for a family emergency, according to reports.
And the crisis means he is likely to miss Paris Saint-Germain's cup clash over Strasbourg on Wednesday.
The PSG superstar was given permission by his club to attend to the matter, reports .
But he reportedly has only three days to deal with it before being summoned back to training.
Neymar, 25, was banned for today's 3-1 win over Lille after picking up a yellow card against Monaco.
Having been given a red card during the 2-2 draw with Marseille, the caution he received against Monaco activated an extra one-match suspension.
The former Barcelona ace is said to have heard the bad news while in the stands of the Parc des Princes for today's clash.
Meanwhile, Neymar's team-mates thumped Lille to retain their nine-point lead at the top of Ligue 1.
Angel Di Maria, Javier Pastore and Kylian Mbappe were all on target.
While Neymar's potential loss for the Strasbourg clash is not ideal, manager Unai Emery has a wealth of other attacking options to choose from.
It is not the first time family matters have affected the Brazil forward's club career.
Questions have arisen over injuries suffered and suspensions served around early March, the time of his sister's birthday.
Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos joked about the theory when asked about the possibility of playing alongside Neymar at the Bernabeu.
He said Los Blancos would have to "negotiate his sister's birthday".
