Pep Guardiola reveals what he told Southampton ace Nathan Redmond during Manchester City win
Spanish boss was involved in a bizarre argument with the Southampton ace moments after the full-time whistle
PEP GUARDIOLA has revealed he was just telling Nathan Redmond "how good he is" after the duo were caught in a heated conversation followed Man City's dramatic 2-1 win.
Moments after the full-time whistle, Guardiola looked raging with the Southampton ace as he shouted in his face and pushed the winger.
City had just secured three dramatic points after Raheem Sterling's 95th minute winner.
But it appeared the Spaniard's good mood was cut short as Redmond was making his way off the pitch.
Redmond chose to speak behind his hand, so it was not certain what sent Guardiola over the edge.
But the City boss has played down any bad blood between the pair and simply revealed he was complimenting the 23-year-old.
Speaking to Match of the Day after the game, he said: "I was telling Nathan Redmond how good he is at the end.
"Southampton have some super talented players, Redmond is so good one against one.

"But they didn't' want to play, they were time wasting from the ninth minute. I just wanted them to play."
City extended their lead at the top of the table to eight points over bitter rivals Manchester United thanks to Sterling's goal which sparked huge jubilation amongst the fans.
And Guardiola believes those are the moments in football that players, managers and fans crave.
He added: "It was an astonishing end to the game. It means a lot. They had 10 guys in the box, it was so complicated to attack them.
"They had chances in the first half, all the teams are better than us at set-pieces. They are stronger than us but we kept patient.
