Joachim Low is now willing to leave Germany before contract ends in 2020

Bayern general manager Uli Hoeness had claimed the 2013 Treble-winning manager could stay beyond this term.

But a visibly angry was quick to shoot down the notion, confirming he will not be in the hotseat next term.

And insist that Bayern have four potential candidates in mind for the permanent role — with Klopp the most viable option.

He would be an ideal candidate as he knows many of the players well, having worked with them at international level for many years.

Low was originally Jurgen Klinsmann‘s assistant for two years, before taking over permanently in 2006, so has been part of the Germany set-up for over 13 years now.

However, he would not be available at the end of the season as his contract with the national side runs until 2020 — and he is not willing to leave early.

But, having endured a difficult start to the 2017-18 campaign, he was advised by Heynckes himself to spend a few more years in his current role.

Thomas Tuchel remains the obvious candidate.

He knows the Bundesliga well having managed Borussia Dortmund and, as he is currently without a club, would not command any fee.

However, the fact he was available and Bayern still opted for Heynckes shows the club have their reservations.

Being the most successful club German manager in circulation, Klopp had been an obvious choice.

But it appeared impossible they would ever be able to lure him away from Liverpool.

Despite his Dortmund links, Klopp is very highly-regarded at the Allianz Arena.

Bayern will now wait until the end of the season to evaluate his situation before making a final decision on a permanent appointment.
