LIONEL MESSI versus Cristiano Ronaldo is a debate that may never be settled.
But while the superstars and their team-mates battle it out on the pitch, the fashion world fights to have their labels' threads perfectly tailored on the football icons.
Balmain and Gucci are two of the heavy hitters and and much-loved brands of football fashionistas.
Here is a look at which star is siding with which luxury brand:
Balmain
French fashion house Balmain see's that the likes of Neymar and Pogba stay looking fresh.
The Paris Saint-Germain star was spotted at the Balmain SS18 runway show at Paris Fashion Week earlier this year looking dapper in a tailored black blazer by the renowned designer.
His Brazilian and PSG team-mate Dani Alves also chose to go with Balmain at the Fifa Football Awards last month.
The defender went for something a little more overstated though in a black embellished blazer carrying a hefty price tag of more than £5,400.
Dutch defender Memphis Depay likes the fancy threads of Balmain too.

He was spotted on a red carpet with a black military style jacket with gold embroidery.
While Manchester United ace Paul Pogba was seen trying to strike it lucky in a quilted red bomber jacket worth £2,700.
The Frenchman has also been pictured decked out in a black biker hoodie and sweatpants combo as he arrived at the national team's training base last year.
Gucci
Italian brand Gucci is also a favourite among sports stars but tends to offer a more casual look with the printed hoodies and unique designs.
Antoine Griezmann is known for his crazy hairstyles and out-there dress sense.
So the UFO motif hoodie with a buckled neck was perfect the Frenchman.
He even has matching sneakers with removable patches - he chose to go with UFO on the right, dragon on the left.
Ronaldo is siding with Gucci too in an tan blazer covered in bees which would have set the Real Madrid star back over £2,000.
Following the bee theme is Los Blancos team-mate Karim Benzema who was pictured with a £1,400 Gucci backpack with a large bee on the front.
