Manchester United warned off Gareth Bale move by Zinedine Zidane who insists ace remains ‘important’ for Real Madrid
The Welshman has been linked with move away from the Santiago Bernabeu after suffering more injury woes this season
ZINEDINE ZIDANE has warned Manchester United off a move for Gareth Bale after insisting the Welshman remains an “important” player for Real Madrid.
Rumours claim Bale could be axed by the Spanish champs next summer following a recent string of injuries which have seen him sidelined since September.
The emergence of playmakers Isco and Marco Asensio have also sparked a change in formation for Los Blancos, with Ronaldo now playing alongside Karim Benzema at the head of a narrow diamond.
Manchester United are believed to be interested in bringing Bale back to the Premier League.
But the former Tottenham star appears to still have a future at the Santiago Bernabeu following some strong backing from Zidane.
The French tactician said: “We know what Gareth can give us. Many things. He is very strong, fast, technically very good, works very hard.
“It’s true there has been a lot of talk about his injuries, and that he plays just three games before another
[absence].
“He’s an important player for us and he knows that. The important thing is that we have to get him back into shape and ready to play.

“What he can give us is strength. He’s fast; he can open things up for us and can give us a lot of things.
“I don’t know when he is going to play. He hasn’t had any trouble today, but we’ll see when he can play.”
