Sunderland star Duncan Watmore suffers second horror ACL injury to same knee and will miss entire season
SUNDERLAND star Duncan Watmore has suffered a suspected cruciate ligament injury to the same knee he injured a year ago.
The 23-year-old's blow comes as a huge setback for new boss Chris Coleman as he sets about trying to guide the Black Cats to Championship safety.
Welshman Coleman said: "We have to get the clinical results to find out exactly what he has done.
"We haven't got those yet, so everybody is looking at it and suspecting, but we don't know yet.
"Of course we are worried because of what happened before but until we get a definite, we can't really say what is what.
"Duncan worked so hard to get back. He's a real good player and an even better guy."
Watmore has only played six matches for the club since battling back from ten months out with a torn ACL in his left knee.
He will now undergo surgery once the scans determine the full extent of the damage.
