ORLANDO CITY SC are reported to be keen on former Real Madrid and Manchester City striker Robinho.
Lions are apparently looking to recruit Robinho in a deal that would be worth around £3.7million a year in Major League Scooer.
Robinho, 33, is now playing for Atletico Mineiro in Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A,
Brazilian source reveals Robinho’s current deal expires at the end of the year.
There is a fly in the ointment, though.
The Brazilian has been earning £534,000 a month with Atletico Mineiro and Orlando's offer weighs in at around £305,000 month.
MANCHESTER CITY TRANSFER STORIES
But with Kaka now off their wage bill, perhaps Orlando could flex their muscles with an improved bid.
But they could take some tempting.
MES GETS SHIRTY Ozil could sign new Arsenal deal… but who’s shirt number does he want?
For a club offical said: “Kaka money does not exist anymore. We are working within another reality, because Kaka’s money was for Kaka."
This apparently justifies the drastic reduction in the proposal made to Robinho.
Over the summer Santos were reportedly looking to sign Robinho using the money they made from an off-shoot of Neymar's world-record move to Paris Saint-Germain.
They received around £12.2m of his £198m switch from Barcelona.
And before in 2008, Robino claims Chelsea blew their chance to sign him by selling shirts with his name on too early.
He explained: "Real Madrid had fallen out with Chelsea – they didn’t like them selling shirts with my name on before the deal had been done.
“I’m pretty sure that this error was one of the main reasons why the transfer failed, as it was a matter of pride for Real Madrid.”
