Sam Allardyce seems like he fancies taking on the Everton job – but it will come with a number of conditions

The experienced boss is happy to ride to the rescue but wants a contract for the next 2½ years.

That would include a bumper pay deal plus a survival bonus after Everton made an awful start to put them in danger.

Allardyce was originally seen as a short-term fix but he will seek guarantees that he can get the job on a full-time basis.

And Big Sam, 63, will also tell the Toffees he wants his own backroom staff as part of his plan to turn round the club.

One of the men Sam Allardyce may want to add to his backroom staff is sacked Leicester boss Craig Shakespeare

Allardyce is keen on Craig Shakespeare, just sacked by Leicester City as manager, and keeper coach Martyn Margetson.

Shakespeare worked with Allardyce at England and is sorting out his settlement with the Foxes. He would be happy to return as number two at Everton.

Margetson was with Allardyce at West Ham when he was briefly boss of England and is currently at Crystal Palace.

Allardyce may want a staff of around ten, including a physio and medical team. So that would be a huge cost for wealthy owner Farhad Moshiri.
