FRANCE manager Didier Deschamps has signed a contract extension until 2020.
Deschamps replaced Laurent Blanc in 2012 and guided Les Bleus to a World Cup quarter final and Euros final on home soil last year, where they lost to Portugal.
France have qualified for Russia 2018 and have been given the target of reaching the semis by French FA president Noel Le Graet.
He said: "I don't want to start again with someone new just after the World Cup. He knows the team better than anyone.
"France is improving under Didier. I want to give him the chance to compete in another World Cup and Euro.
"For me Didier is the best. He takes total responsibility for this team and does so very well. There's no one better than him to do this job. He is fully integrated."
Deschamps, 49, earns £1.3million per year - £500,000 less than England boss Gareth Southgate.
And Le Graet insists the former Juventus and Chelsea star - who was subject to a sick threat from ISIS last week - could have earned more money in club football.

He said: "It's not a question of finance, but of mutual trust. Money wasn't talked about. A lot of the top clubs in Europe would offer him more."
Deschamps's France are one of the countries favourite to win next year's World Cup.

The French FA will not swing the axe should Les Bleus suffer an early exit - but Le Graet has high expectations considering the exciting young talent in the squad.
He added: "Didier is one of the few coaches to select lads who are 19 or 20.
"When you see the quality of our players, there's cause for hope."
