Harry Kane returns to Tottenham training as Mauricio Pochettino’s men prepare for Real Madrid
Zinedine Zidane's side travel to Wembley for tomorrow night's Champions League clash and while Kane has been struggling with a hamstring injury his return is a timely boost
HARRY KANE gives Spurs a boost by returning to training as Mauricio Pochettino’s men prepare for Real Madrid.
The Tottenham striker joined in running drills and was pictured with the ball at his feet, appearing to suggest he is recovering quickly from his hamstring injury.
Kane missed last weekend’s defeat to Manchester United.
And while it is still a doubt he could be in the firing line for the visit of Zinedine Zidane’s men, his quick return to action is good news for Poch.
Erik Lamela was also back in full first-team training, but it is the news of Kane that will really excite the Argentinian.
Speaking today, Pochettino said of Kane’s recovery and his chances of facing Real: “We are really confident.
“It may be possible but I don’t want to say 100 per cent as have one more day.
“He trained today but it is important we make the right decision.
AWAY DAY BLUES Tottenham’s record away to “Big Four” is jaw-dropping
But Poch was keen to point out that Kane’s inclusion is not do or die.
He added: “For me, one or another starting selection is not important. It’s more about our squad, not to pick one or another.”
For all Spurs’ attacking qualities it was keeper Hugo Lloris who was in top form when Spurs earned a brilliant 1-1 draw against Los Blancos in Madrid earlier this month.
Varane’s own goal put Pochettino’s side in front before Cristiano Ronaldo levelled from the penalty spot just before half-time.
Neither side are yet to lose in Group H and both have seven points from three games played.
