Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho launches stinging attack on club fans for turning on Romelu Lukaku
Special One is unhappy his leading scorer, who created the assist for Anthony Martial’s winner against Tottenham, is getting it in the neck from Red Devils fans
JOSE MOURINHO has launched another stinging attack on Manchester United fans by telling them to back Romelu Lukaku.
The Special One was jeered for replacing local boy Marcus Rashford with Anthony Martial against Tottenham.
Martial scored the winner in the 1-0 victory at Old Trafford and Mourinho responded to his critics at the final whistle by putting his fingers to his lips making a ‘sshhh’ gesture.
But Mourinho is also unhappy leading scorer Lukaku, who created the assist for Martial’s winner, is also getting it in the neck from Red Devils fans.
Mourinho fumed: “I would like the supporters to explain to me why they don’t support Lukaku so much because he gives everything.
“It is not fair when scoring a goal or not scoring a goal makes all the difference.”
United chief Mourinho hit back yesterday at the club’s supporters after they booed his match-winning substitution.
Mourinho said: “I really don’t understand the reaction of the fans - are they Red Devils?

“Sometimes I don’t know because my strikers work amazingly well. They pay for their ticket and they can do what they want.
“They can boo a player who doesn’t deserve to be booed, they can boo a player who is working like an animal, even though the game is not going in his direction.
