One fan even claimed that the 26-year-old has lost his status as being labelled as the world's best shot-stopper because of his new barnet.

While one person simply stated: "David De Gea's hair today is the worst thing I've ever seen."

Someone even gave the Spanish international some constructive criticism, as he said: "De Gea is a top goalkeeper but he needs to sort that barnet out and quick."

His new hairdo failed to play a problem for the ex-Atletico Madrid ace as he kept a clean sheet against Spurs during the first half at Old Trafford.
