COPS face a security nightmare after 34,000 Bayern Munich fans tried to snap up tickets for their Champions League showdown at Parkhead.

But police chiefs last night warned travelling fans will be booted out if found outside the 3,200-seat away section — after an last month.

A force spokesman said: “We want to advise away fans without tickets not to try to get into the game.

"If you’re caught in the home section you will be ejected.”

Re-selling site Ticketbis is offering briefs costing between £366 and £2,410 for Celtic sections.

Five-time European champs Bayern said the unprecedented demand was due to Parkhead’s famous atmosphere.

A club spokesman said: “Everyone wants to see this game in this stadium.”

Fan Damian Kania, 44, of Munich, added: “Everyone knows that Celtic Park is the place to be on a big European night.

“So when your team is drawn to play there, it is only natural that many will want to be there.”

But Hoops bosses revealed they were stunned by the interest for the Group B crunch.

An insider said: “We could not believe the number of Bayern fans who applied for tickets — 34,500 applications represents half of their stadium in Munich.

"We’re keeping our fingers crossed we don’t end up with a similar situation to Cologne in London.”

Cologne fans stormed gates, fought in the stands and invaded home sections at Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium after 20,000 Germans arrived in London for the Europa League clash.

Celtic travel to face Bayern at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday.
