Manchester United star Romelu Lukaku posts positive injury update while on Belgium duty
Forward has not travelled to Bosnia and Herzegovina for Saturday's World Cup qualifier, but could play on Tuesday
MANCHESTER UNITED star Romelu Lukaku has posted a positive injury update while on international duty with Belgium.
The forward, 24, has not travelled to Bosnia and Herzegovina for Saturday's World Cup qualifier, but could play against Cyprus on Tuesday.
Lukaku had played the full 90 minutes of United's 4-0 drubbing of hapless Crystal Palace last weekend, even scoring.
The goal took his tally to 15 in just 12 matches in all competitions for club and country in 2017-18.
However, the Belgian star picked up an ankle knock in training and was ruled out of Saturday's game.
Lukaku stayed behind in Belgium to receive treatment from renowned physiotherapist Lieven Maesschalck and seemed in positive mood following a workout in Antwerp.
The United star tweeted: "Another good day at @movetocure #Rehab".
Meanwhile, Belgium boss Martinez revealed he would not risk angering Jose Mourinho by pushing Lukaku too hard, too soon.
The ex-Everton boss claimed: "Romelu would like to join in, but he must be fully recovered.
"We will wait for as long as possible to make a decision and we also keep in touch with Manchester United.

"But they can be sure we will not push him too far.”
Earlier in the week, Martinez had revealed the extent of Lukaku's injury, saying: “Romelu is working separately. He hasn’t joined the group yet since he arrived. We need to be a little bit patient.
“For me, I see that it is a bit difficult for him to be involved on Saturday, but we are still hopeful that he can be involved on Tuesday.
“He wants to play but he hasn’t been able to train with the group and it is important that he gets his ankle fully recovered.
“It’s a period of season that is really, really busy.
“It is a situation that he brought from his club level and they are very much aware.
“We need to be careful that we don’t rush him into anything. But we hope he is going to be fully fit very, very soon.”
