ENGLAND face an early test of their World Cup credentials when they face Germany and Brazil in back-to-back friendlies next month.
Gareth Southgate's side booked a place at Russia 2018 with a 1-0 win over Slovenia in a dismal performance at Wembley last night.
The Three Lions looked disjointed and short of quality as their limitations at the highest level were exposed.
So Southgate will have a major job to address the problems on show before they entertain two of the leading challengers for World Cup glory in the space of five days.
The England boss is determined to test his players as much as possible before the tournament next summer in an effort to bring them up to standard.
And few challenges will be tougher than taking on the defending world champions followed by the best team in South America.
Joachim Low's side visit Wembley on November 10 on the back of cruising to qualification from Group C with nine wins out of nine.
Germany are looking to retain the World Cup next summer after their Brazil 2014 glory and are regarded as one of the favourites to lift the trophy.
The two sides faced each other earlier this year in Dortmund, with Germany coming out on top with a 1-0 win.
Once that match is out of the way, it will be the turn of Brazil to visit Wembley for another prestige friendly on November 14.

The game, which will also raise money for the Bobby Moore Fund, is the first time Brazil have played at Wembley since 2013.
Tite's side have been impressive throughout qualification in the South American group, where they are ten points clear of nearest rivals Uruguay.
