N’GOLO KANTE claims it’s a “shame” that Chelsea team-mate Tiemoue Bakayoko has not been called up to the latest France squad.
The duo are quickly forming a fine midfield partnership at the champions following Bakayoko’s £40million arrival from Monaco over the summer.
The Ligue 1-winnig ace has been thrust into the centre of the park alongside PFA Player of the Year Kante.
And the pair seem to be forging a strong alliance in a new formation which allows Cesc Fabregas to operate as a deep-lying playmaker.
However, while Kante is a key part of Didier Deschamps’ set-up, Bakayoko is yet to make his mark on the international stage.
But Kante is hopeful that his new Blues pal will get the nod as the 2018 World Cup looms, with their club partnership sure to provide France with an advantage in the near future.
He told SFR Sport via : “Game after game, we are becoming more confident together.
“We are trying to produce what the coach wants us to and things are working quite well.

“[Against Man City] it was a slightly more difficult match. In big matches sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.
“But we will continue and it is encouraging for the future… [but] it is a shame that he has not been called up for France.
“There were are looking to qualify [for the finals], hopefully we can pull that off.”
