Hertha Berlin 2 Bayern Munich 2: Bundesliga champions squander two-goal lead at the Olympiastadion in Willy Sagnol’s first game in charge

Goals from Ondrej Duda and Salamon Kalou cancelled out Mats Hummels and Robert Lewandowski's strikes in Bayern's first match since Carlo Ancelotti was sacked

WILLY SAGNOL'S first game in charge of Bayern Munich got off to a poor start after his side squandered a two-goal lead against Hertha Berlin to draw 2-2.

In the first match following Carlo Ancelotti's dismissal, quick-fire goals from Ondrej Duda and Salamon Kalou cancelled out strikes from Mats Hummels and Robert Lewandowski at the Olympiastadion.

It didn't take Bayern long to open the scoring - with Hummels heading home in the tenth minute after Jerome Boateng whipped in a delivery for his defensive partner.

The former Manchester City man then almost got himself on the score sheet, but his header just missed the top right corner.

Munich continued to threaten in the first half, with Javi Martinez and Lewandowski both spurning key chances, before Hummels and Boateng both almost netted in the closing stages.

It took just four minutes into the second half for the away side to double their lead, with Lewandowski lashing home his 12th of the season.

The Polish striker's left-footed strike found its way into the near corner as Bayern threatened to run away with the match.

However Hertha immediately replied in the 51st minute, as Ondrej Duda tapped home into an empty net after Genki Haraguchi squared the ball for the Slovakian midfielder.

And in the 56th minute Salomon Kalou sent the Berlin fans into delirium after netting with a fine finish.

Moments after having an attempt saved by stand-in goalkeeper Sven Ulreich, the ex-Chelsea man's low left-footed drive went through the legs of the German shot-stopper.

The ball dropped to his feet following a set-piece, and the 32-year-old made no mistake when presented with the opportunity.

And it got worse for Munich when Franck Ribery was forced off through injury in the 62nd minute.

Lewandowski dragged a late shot wide of the left-hand post as Bayern failed to close the gap on Borussia Dortmund at the top of table.

The Bavarian club jumped up into second place, but still trail their rivals by five points.
