MANCHESTER UNITED fear having to hand Marouane Fellaini a HUGE pay-rise to keep him at the club.
The Belgian midfielder is out of contract next summer, and talks over a new deal have only initially taken place.
He is allowed to speak to teams around Europe in January, and can sign a pre-contract agreement before leaving on a free.
The 29-year-old has been looked at by a number of sides, including Turkish giants Galatasaray.
And United believe they will have to up Fellaini's £130.000-a-week wages to stop him leaving Old Trafford.
An Old Trafford source said: “There is a fear that Marouane will only stay here with a major pay increase.
“He is on good money already, but feels he has a worth. They are in a difficult spot with him out of contract next summer.
“The club already took out their 12-month option to extend his deal back in January, so it's proving difficult.
