And are reporting that the Dutchman could go in for Cavani after meeting PSG officials over a potential deal.

The report claims that Cavani could be offloaded by the French giants and the Toffees are keen to see if he will move to Merseyside.

Everton made a bid for Chelsea outcast Diego Costa but lost out after the Spaniard decided to move back to Atletico Madrid.

Cavani could be happy to leave the French capital after reports emerged that he is not happy with his position at the club since Neymar’s arrival.

The Uruguayan forward’s first words to the £198million Brazilian arrival was a dig about his ex-Barcelona team-mate, Lionel Messi.

Neymar has immediately bumped heads with Cavani – as the pair played out a very public argument during last week’s 2-0 win over Lyon.

Neymar and Edinson Cavani had a falling out over a penalty

With the scored at 1-0, the pair tussled over who should take a penalty, with Cavani winning the battle.

Yet he missed the kick, before Dani Alves further fuelled the fire by refusing to allow the Uruguayan to take a free-kick, instead dishing the ball to his Brazil team-mate.

PSG have since denied claims they offered Cavani a £880,000 bonus to give up his spot-kicking taking duties.

The club said in a statement: “PSG formally denies reports which say Cavani would abandon penalties in exchange for the automatic payment of a bonus.”
