Jurgen Klopp blasts Liverpool’s critics but admits his team DO have problems ahead of Premier League clash with Leicester City
JURGEN KLOPP has hit back at his side's critics - but admitted Liverpool do "have problems".
After a promising start to the season the Reds' form has nosedived in recent weeks.
Pressure is mounting on Klopp after he failed to address Liverpool's long-term defensive frailties in the summer transfer window.
But the former Borussia Dortmund boss is attempting to stay positive throughout the slump.
And he says that he his team's struggles have been blown-up by the media.
Klopp said: "It sounds like we have nil points and are the worst team in the league.
"Yes, we have problems, but we don't have to make them bigger."
Liverpool's slump began with the 5-0 thumping at the hands of Premier League rivals Manchester City a fortnight ago.
They had key attacker Sadio Mane sent-off during that clash at the Etihad after catching Citizens 'keeper Ederson in the face with his boot.
That led to a three-match suspension, and his absence was felt as the Kop boys struggled to a 1-1 home draw with Burnley at Anfield last weekend.
And a Champions League draw with Sevilla a week ago did little to dampen the mood, which was made even worse by the setback against the Foxes two days ago.
Liverpool will be hoping for revenge on the Leicester and to end their miserable run on Saturday.
They once again make the journey to the King Power stadium to take on Craig Shakespeare's men.
The summer transfer window was one the craziest we have ever seen.
