But regular spot-kick taker Cavani refused to indulge the new Brazilian golden boy.

Embarrassingly for the hulking Uruguayan he smashed the shot against the crossbar and Sport now claim Neymar will have a hand in shipping his rival off the Bernabeu.

The petulant on-pitch show was followed up my further acts of childishness after the final whistle on PSG’s latest win.

The pair had to be separated in the changing room after the game as their dispute rumbled on.

Cavani is believed to have fled the Parc des Princes within 20 minutes of the final whistle via a back door.

And Neymar set about unfollowing the Uruguayan on social media before linking up for a night out with Formula One superstar Lewis Hamilton.

Cavani has shot down rumours of a January move and insisted the set-piece rows are par for the course in a side with PSG’s wealth.

Cavani said: “These things are created. I don’t know why these stories are created.

“The truth is that these are normal things; things that happen in football.

“Peopleare  saying that Cavani won’t let anyone take penalties and that there’s a problem with Neymar. The truth is that there’s no problem.

“He has just arrived and like I said from the off we are keen for him to adapt in the best way possible. I think that’s been proven because you can see he is adapting quickly.”

The pair are due to hold clear-the-air talks on Thursday but the future spot-kick king remains a murky subject.

Manager Unai Emery wants his players to be mature enough to decide amongst themselves and leave him to focus on coaching the team.

When the boss returns after watching Champions League rivals Bayern Munich play on Friday night, he will expect the saga to be sorted.

Only then – if the players cannot sort it out themselves - will he make a management call and leave one expensive striker disappointed.
