Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger said this afternoon: “Danny has a scan today, we don’t know how bad his groin injury is but he will certainly be out until the international break.”

Apart from Wednesday night’s Carabao Cup tie at home to Doncaster, Welbeck seems sure to miss at least three matches.

Next Monday’s Premier League clash against West Brom at the Emirates, the Europa League trip to BATE Borisov on September 28 and the Prem clash at home to Brighton on October 1 will come too soon for him.

Arsenal believe midfielder Francis Coquelin could be out for weeks but are unsure

So Welbeck might be targeting the Prem visit to Watford on Saturday, October 14.

Wenger, meanwhile, also gave updates on crocked midfielders Mesut Ozil and Francis Coquelin.

Germany superstar Ozil is on the mend from the knee problem that kept him out of the Stamford Bridge stalemate over the weekend.

But Arsenal are unsure how long French enforcer Coquelin will be out for with the hamstring injury he suffered after coming on as a substitute in the 3-0 win over Bournemouth on September 9.

Wenger said: “Mesut is training again, but for tomorrow no (he will not play). He has a little inflammation of his knee.”

The Gunners will reshuffle again against lowly League One side Rovers in tomorrow’s tie.

Wenger revealed English duo Calum Chambers and Jack Wilshere are in line to play.

He added: “It will be a similar team to the one that played against Cologne.”

The Gunners beat the Germans 3-1 in that controversial, late-starting Europa League game game last week, with France striker Olivier Giroud starting.
