Known for their cantankerous and cutting opinions the Muppet stars have been likened to Sir Alex Ferguson and Mick Hucknall who were spotted watching the 4-0 win

MANCHESTER UNITED legend Sir Alex Ferguson was sat next to another Manchester legend during the club’s 4-0 win over Everton.

Simply Red front-man Mick Hucknall occupied the coveted seat at Old Trafford, next to Fergie, but the two didn’t look impressed with United’s efforts in the first half.

Fergie looks less than impressed with United

Fergie was seen with his arms crossed over his chest, while Mick Hucknall fiddled in his pocket and then pulled out the team-sheet for the match.

Social media users jumped at the opportunity to get the singer trending, but some were savage in their response to seeing him sat in the stands at Old Trafford.

Many commented on Hucknall’s appearance, while others wondered if Sir Alex had to explain the offside rule.

Fergie could provide the commentary on the action, while Hucknall could serenade the 75-year-old with some of Simply Red’s biggest hits.

Fergie didn’t look impressed with the game, perhaps Hucknall had to remind him that he needed to stop ‘holding back the years’.

Famous faces often occupy the seats surrounding Fergie, with sports presenter Rachel Riley seen sharing a joke with the ex-United manager at a game earlier this year.
