Tottenham transfer news: Spurs join Everton in race for Werder Bremen’s £13.5million-rated Danish star Thomas Delaney
TOTTENHAM have reportedly joined the race for Werder Bremen’s £13.5million-rated Thomas Delaney.
The Denmark midfielder is an international team-mate of Christian Eriksen.
And claim that Spurs now want to unite the duo at club level in North London.
The report states that the 26-year-old is ready to swap the Bundesliga for the Premier League.
Mauricio Pochettino is not the only manager keen on bringing the star to England.
Everton boss Ronald Koeman is also monitoring his performances for Bremen and could challenge Spurs for his signature.
And Burnley chief Sean Dyche is another big admirer of the playmaker.
He expressed his interest in Delaney over the summer but the Dane had no desire to move to Turf Moor.
That puts Spurs and the Toffees firmly in the driving seat to secure his signature, although no move is expected to be made until the end of the season.
Delaney is under contract in Germany until 2021 and has only been at his current employers since last January.
After beginning life moderately well following his switch from FC Copenhagen in his homeland, he has now firmly found his feet.
And he has started the current campaign on absolute fire.
Delaney has scored five goals in his last three matches for club and country.
Four of those came for Denmark over the last international break with the other coming at the weekend against Hertha Berlin.
