Joe Hart insists he is NOT bothered about keeping clean sheets as long as West Ham keep winning
JOE HART claims he is not bothered about keeping clean sheets – providing West Ham are winning matches.
The England keeper delivered his first Hammers clean sheet in Monday’s 2-0 win over Huddersfield for the team’s opening three points of the season.
The shut-out was Hart’s first in the League in 23 matches.
It was a shocking run going back to January 8 when he was playing for Torino against Sassuolo.
Asked about his poor record, Hart said: “That’s in the league.
“I’ve kept plenty for my country. I am going to keep trying to make as many saves as I can.
“Whether we keep a clean one or not as long as we win I am not really too interested.
“I am going to try and keep that form going.
“Against Huddersfield, I thought the defenders were fantastic and they protected me really well and I didn’t really have that much to do.
“I feel good. I am excited to be here, I am happy, and I just want to keep improving.”
West Ham face West Brom on Saturday and Hart admitted: “It’s not going to be one for the football purists, is it?
“It’s going to be a great game of heart and desire."
Hammers defender Jose Fonte said: “It was massive to keep a clean sheet.
“As a defender, it’s the worst possible feeling conceding three or four goals.”
