Bacary Sagna rejects Brighton and is set to sign for West Ham or Leicester after Manchester City release
BACARY SAGNA has reportedly snubbed a move to Brighton in favour of joining West Ham or Leicester.
The French international was released by Manchester City at the end of last season and is currently a free agent.
But claim that he will soon have a new employer as he prepares to make a decision on his future in the coming days.
Chris Hughton was desperate to add the experienced 34-year-old to his newly-promoted side's ranks to help bolster their survival hopes.
However, the former Arsenal man has turned down a move to the South Coast in favour of joining one of their Premier League rivals.
Both the Hammers and the Foxes have offered him a deal and he is nearing a decision on which one to join.
And he would be joining familiar faces at the London Stadium should he opt for East London with former Etihad team-mates Joe Hart and Pablo Zabaleta moving to West Ham this summer.
Sagna was let go by City as Pep Guardiola overhauled his full-backs and brought in Kyle Walker and Benjamin Mendy.
Sagna revealed he was in the dark over his future and would be happy to stay, but the club thought otherwise and have not extended his deal.
France international Sagna won the Premier League and two League Cups at City since joining from the Gunners in 2014.
He played 85 games in total for the club, including 17 times last season in the top-flight.
Sagna has been taking his time while deciding his future as he enjoyed a holiday with his beautiful wife Ludivine.
And he has no hard feelings against City after the club ended his time in the North West.
He said: “It has been a privilege to play for this football club.
“I have enjoyed every moment of my City career and will look back on my time at City fondly.
“I would like to thank the staff, players and fans for making my three years so memorable.”
