BEN WOODBURN once again came to Wales rescue as he teed up a priceless late goal for Hal Robson Kanu.
The Liverpool teen - who scored on his debut to see off Austria on Saturday - made a dramatic impact again before Aaron Ramsey made it two with a deflected half-volley.
His country were facing embarrassment when his run and cross from the left was nodded in by the West Brom forward.
And it keeps Chris Coleman's hopes of reaching the World Cup next summer very much alive.
Wales should have been ahead early as Hal Robson-Kanu glanced a header wide with the keeper looking beaten.
The West Brom forward was then denied by a clearance of the line from Moldova skipper Alex Epureanu - after his keeper had spilled efforts from Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey.
Bale's trademark free kick late in the first half did not have enough dip and sailed well over the bar.
And in first half stoppage time Ramsey blazed another effort too high and a super through ball from Joe Allen.

Wales had struggled to make the breakthrough against a Moldvoa defence that was gritty and well-organised.
But considering their opponents are currently ranked 159th in the world, it was disappointing they had not made the breakthrough.
The second half was more of the same with Bale firing a low shot straight at the home keeper - who once again spilled it.
Then Robson Kanu turned his marker superbly but curled his shot from the edge of the box the wrong side of the post.
Saturday's hero Ben Woodburn was thrown on after an hour to try to spare the Dragons blushes.
It could have got worse for the visitors as Gheorge Anton took advantage of a slip by Ashley Williams but Wayne Hennessey was there to rescue him.
However Woodburn stepped up again as some tricky play down the left saw him cross for Robson Kanu to head in his fifth international goal.
