THEY may be Premier League new boys, but Brighton and Huddersfield Town incredibly made the top ten of European clubs by net spend on transfer dealings this summer.
As the transfer window slammed shut, Neymar's world-record breaking transfer of £198million from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain sent reverberations around the footballing world.
Unsurprisingly, this meant the French outfit topped the pile when it came to their bank balance on transfers.
They were hit in the pocket by the princely sum of £314m, having spent £382m but only recouping £68m in player sales.
But perhaps more interesting than that was seeing the Terriers and Seagulls make the list of European clubs with the biggest negative balances following summer spending spree.
In eighth spot were Brighton. They ended on £49.4m in the red after their summer exertions - that's because they spent that figure without receiving anything on player sales.
And two spots below Chris Hughton's side in 10th were fellow new-boys Huddersfield, who ended the summer window on -£43.9m.
That's due to spending £50.3m on new players including the likes of £11.4m record-signing Steve Mounie who joined from Montpellier.
