Mbappe, 18, initially arrived at the Parisians on a season-long loan deal and will join them on a permanent basis for £166million next summer.

Due to financial fair play rules, the move has been a complicated one following PSG's £198m signing of Neymar from Barcelona.

But they have now reached an agreement to bring him in on loan before he officially becomes a permanent member of their squad in 12 months.

The deal makes Mbappe the second most expensive player of all-time behind his new Brazilian team-mate.

The future of the France international has been one of the longest running transfer sagas of the summer with a host of clubs linked with him.

Arsenal appeared favourites to bring him to the Premier League two months ago before domestic rivals Chelsea and Manchester City joined the chase.

Things started hotting up when PSG and Champions League winners Real Madrid joined the hunt.

The La Liga giants thought they had secured a move for the ace, but it is the big-spending Parc des Princes outfit that have snapped him up to join Neymar and Edinson Cavani in their attack.

Mbappe burst onto the world scene last season with a magnificent breakthrough campaign at Monaco.

He bagged 26 goals in 44 matches for the Principality.

He will then make the move permanent for £166m next summer

Monaco started him in their first match of their Ligue 1 title defence on August 4 but he has not featured since.

He is currently with the France national side and was named on the bench for their World Cup qualifier against Holland on Thursday night.
