FERNANDO LLORENTE is having a Spurs medical ahead of a £15million two-year deal after Swansea accepted Tottenham's offer - but Chelsea are set to counter bid for the hitman.

The Spain striker has been a target of Antonio Conte all window but he could be pipped at the post again by the London rivals.

SunSport told you last night how Mauricio Pochettino was looking for support for Harry Kane, with Llorente being under strong consideration.

Chelsea were in pole position to land the former Athletic Bilbao striker but now, much like in the case with Romelu Lukaku, look set to lose out on one of their main targets.

Kane will lead the line for Poch this season but back-up forward Vincent Janssen has struggled to adapt to English football.

Llorente is recovering from a broken arm suffered on his summer holidays but is back training and impressed last season with 15 Prem goals in his opening campaign.

Conte worked with Llorente, 32, at Juventus and wants him to provide competition in attack for the Blues as they defend the title.

Swansea have been trying to sign Wilfried Bony from Manchester City to cover for Llorente departing before the transfer deadline.

Llorente rejected a move to the Blues in January in order to help the Swans avoid relegation.

Everton had also been in for Llorente but their interest appears to have cooled.
