Pep Guardiola has had two bids rejected for the Irish defender

He is in talks with Inter Milan over a loan move, just one season after joining for £35m.

Evans is understood to be keen on a switch to a top Premier League side, with the Gunners now favourites.

City boss Pep Guardiola is keen on the ex-Manchester United centre-back, and has seen two bids rejected already.

West Brom are thought to be looking for around £30m for Evans, who is also being tracked by Leicester.

But it is believed Arsenal are now frontrunners, and he is in talks to join in a last-gasp deadline day deal.

Evans joined the Baggies for just £6m in 2015 from United, and will attract a fee SIX times as much nearly two-years on.
