Alexis Sanchez requests to leave Chile camp for 24 hours to carry out ‘other commitments’ as Arsenal exit nears
Gunners striker at the centre of proposed big-money move to Manchester City asks to leave training with national side
ALEXIS SANCHEZ has asked to leave Chile training to carry out "other commitments" for 24 hours, according to reports.
The Arsenal striker is at the centre of a proposed big-money move to Manchester City.
It is currently unclear if Sanchez has been granted permission to leave training with the national side, who face Paraguay in a World Cup qualifier on Thursday.
Wenger has maintained that his star man is not for sale and previously said it was "ideal" he - and others at the club - have only one year left on their contracts.
That means the frontman can leave for nothing next season.
Arsenal, who were hammered 4-0 by Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool last Sunday, seem set to lose Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Arsene Wenger - the subject of so much fan fury last season - has come under fire again for his side's play and transfer dealings.
The signing of Alexandre Lacazette was a success - but he did not start at Anfield.
And now club legend Ian Wright has begged Wenger - who recently signed a new two-year deal - to quit the club.
Wrighty said: "It comes back to his door. We are three games in and are at crisis point.
"Do I think he should go? I’d like him to go because I do not believe now he can motivate the players. It’s for himself and for his own sanity.
"It’s an absolute nightmare – where does he go from here? That team has not played for Wenger for years.
"Why can’t we get the players to play for us? Wenger carries the can."
