PHILIPPE COUTINHO will give Liverpool ONE more season before joining Barcelona, much like Luis Suarez did before him.
The Brazil star, 25, has been attempting to force a move to the La Liga giants all summer, but may now commit for a final swansong at Anfield.
Reports suggest Coutinho will finally knuckle down and give Liverpool everything, so long as they promise to allow him his dream move in 12 months' time.
The situation is eerily similar to that of Suarez back in the 2013-14 season after he told Liverpool officials he wanted to leave the club in order to win trophies.
The club convinced him to stay for one season, with the Reds coming as close as they ever have to the Premier League title, before allowing him to join Barca for £70million.
So far this summer, Liverpool have reportedly rejected three bids from the La Liga giants, with the recent figure around the £114m mark.
Earlier this summer, the Reds' owners, Fenway Sports Group, released a statement saying Coutinho would not be leaving Anfield.
Hours later, the "Little Magician" handed in a transfer request.

Now, Coutinho's advisers are hoping to press Liverpool bosses into an agreement allowing the player to stay for this season.
The move would appear to benefit both parties as it would allow the Reds to scope the star's replacement and then let him complete his dream move in 2018.
With time running out in the summer transfer window, it would appear Coutinho is set to stay at Anfield... at least for now.
