According to Sky Sports, the London side are considering sacking the 48-year-old, as their poor run of form has continued into this Premier League campaign.

His position at the club is under review as they are rooted to the bottom of the table - as Joe Hart has conceded a whopping 10 goals already.

They have even claimed that they are eyeing up Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez as his replacement - who has a £5million release clause.

Sky tweeted: "BREAKING: @WestHamUtd have put Slaven Bilic's position under review after the latest defeat to @NUFC + remain admirers of Rafa Benitez."

The news was backed up by Sky journalist Kaveh Solhekol who tweeted: "West Ham are considering sacking Slaven Bilic. His position is under review. Performance today "totally unacceptable". No decision made yet."

Speaking after today's defeat, Bilic revealed he is worried by his side's form, he said: "Newcastle were better in every aspect of the game. They had simply more power, more determination.
